Steel City Pottery is owned and operated by Bob Shields.

Bob Shields has been involved in the arts and clay since the early 90s; earned his Master in Art Concentration in Clay from Edinboro University in 2011 and K-12 Art Certification; has sold his pottery in shops from Northwestern PA to South Central PA and countless festivals and art shows.

Bob has been in education in some capacity since 1997. Teaching, coaching, training, tutoring. . . helping others to be successful is part of his upbringing and life.
Today he supports the PA Bureau of Special Education while continuing as a practicing potter, academic tutor, and Professional Development speaker/facilitator.

Vocationally Trained Machinist

Bob is a product of what was formerly known as the Crawford County Area Vocational Educational program and worked his way through college in the Tool and Die trade.

He continues to use his machining, welding, and fabrication skills building cars and motorcycles, fabricating tools and equipment for the pottery studio, and any other possible application you might think of.

Educator For All

Bob has spent a lifetime teaching secondary math; STEM; grades 1-7 Art Based summer camps; Adult pottery workshops; Educational Professional Development K-12; . . . "I like to be helpful when I can."
